Biography
Kaylee McKeown burst onto the international swimming scene when she joined the Dolphins swim team at just 15 years old, following in the wake of her sister Taylor. By 2017, Kaylee was already making a name for herself by finishing fourth in the 200m backstroke at the World Championships. Her rising star continued to shine through the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the Youth Olympic Games, where she amassed a collection of gold, silver, and bronze medals.
In 2019, Kaylee snagged her first major international medals at the World Championships in the women's 200m backstroke and the 4x100m medley relay. The deferment of the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 turned out to be fortuitous for Kaylee as she embarked on a record-breaking spree in 2021, ultimately securing gold in the 100m and 200m backstroke at the Tokyo Games.
