Caving is at the heart of MSS, and the club prides itself on its extensive knowledge of some of the best caving areas in New South Wales. Members have the opportunity to explore underground passages, learn vertical caving techniques, and gain firsthand experience in cave surveying and photography. Most of the caving trips occur during the winter, allowing members to embrace the allure of canyoning during the summer months.

There is also club equipment available for sharing, and members are always willing to offer advice and guidance on purchasing your own gear.
Trips with MSS are usually two-day adventures, with camping set up beside the car, known as “car camping. ” This type of camping allows members to bring along those little luxuries that make the experience even more enjoyable. Some caving camp sites even offer hot showers, adding a touch of comfort to your outdoor journey.
