Parramatta River Sailing Club is a renowned sports club located on Wharf Road in Gladesville, Sydney. As its name suggests, the club specialises in providing exciting and competitive keelboat racing experiences on the picturesque Parramatta River.
During the spring, summer, and autumn seasons, the club organises thrilling spinnaker races every Saturday. In the winter, the races take place every second Saturday. Additionally, the club holds a non-spinnaker twilight series on Wednesday evenings during the daylight saving period.
The racing courses vary depending on the season. Regular races take competitors from the starting line at Looking Glass Point to Putney Punt in the west and Cockatoo Island in the east. Harbour races see one division sail to Shark Island and back, while the other division heads to Fort Denison and back. The club's prime location at Looking Glass Point offers a stunning vantage point to watch the races, as well as enjoy breathtaking sunset views and observe passing river traffic.
Parramatta River Sailing Club is also an active participant in numerous other racing events, both on the harbour and with interclub competitions. Some notable events in which the club's yachts successfully compete include the Australia Day Regatta, Drummoyne Twilight Series, Balmain Regatta, and the West Harbour Combined Club Summer Series, organised by Balmain Sailing Club.
