Sydney Frontrunners is a sports club located in Sydney, Australia, that caters to LGBTQ+ people and their friends who have an interest in running and walking. With an inclusive and supportive community, Sydney Frontrunners welcomes individuals of all running abilities, as well as walkers. It is not necessary to be an experienced runner to join the club.
The club offers a variety of running and walking options to cater to different preferences and fitness levels. Their primary Saturday run/walk and midweek runs provide opportunities for leisurely runs, fun-runs, trail runs, and even half and full marathons. These regular running sessions are open to all, and no invitation is required. However, if new members would like to introduce themselves beforehand, they can send a message to info@sydneyfrontrunners.
org.
In addition to their regular runs, Sydney Frontrunners also organises monthly external runs, known as Focus Runs. Members are encouraged to participate in these runs individually, as a group, or as a team, depending on their preference. The club selects various annual events as their Focus Runs, including well-known races like The Sydney Marathon, City2Surf, Carcour Running Festival, Sutherland to Surf, and Maroubra Fun Run.
Sydney Frontrunners also actively participates in LGBTQ+ community events. They organise events such as the SFR Clovelly Run and BBQ, the SFR Christmas Party, and take part in the Sydney Mardi Gras Fair Day and Parade. These events provide opportunities for club members to come together, celebrate, and showcase their support for love and equality.
