The Tasmanian Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association (THPA) is the sports aviation federation of Australia (SAFA) affiliated state association for Tasmania. They are dedicated to creating and supporting a safe and fun flying community in Tasmania. While they do not offer tandem flights or instruction, they provide a structure and focus for paragliding, hang gliding, powered paragliding, and microlight flying in Tasmania.
The THPA's committee members work hard to acquire, manage, and protect access to flying sites for future generations of pilots to enjoy. They are committed to encouraging and supporting their members to fly safely and have fun. They welcome inquiries about flying in Tasmania and cater to pilots of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
With over 70 members scattered around the state and many sites on private and state-owned land, the THPA is dedicated to building an inviting, supportive, and friendly club culture. Their mission is to promote the enjoyment of flying sports in Tasmania to the public and new members. They aim to get more people involved in flying and help them improve and fly safer.
