Located in Sydney, Ryde Underwater Club (RUC) is an independent, non-profit sports club that has been serving the diving community for over 40 years. With members from all walks of life and varying levels of experience, RUC provides a welcoming environment for individuals with a shared interest in scuba diving to meet and organise diving and social activities.
One of the main activities of RUC is boat dives in the Sydney region, which take place every weekend. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned Master Diver or Instructor, there are opportunities for everyone to explore the underwater world. In addition to boat dives, RUC also organises weekends away to popular diving destinations such as Nelson Bay, Jervis Bay, and Shellharbour. These trips provide the chance for divers to experience new dive sites and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts.
For those who prefer shore dives, RUC offers regular outings where members can meet dive buddies and organise their own dives. Night dives, both on shore and from boats, are also organised for those seeking a unique underwater experience.
RUC is not just about diving. The club also hosts a variety of social events throughout the year, including barbeques, walking tours, pub nights, and bowling nights. These events provide members with an opportunity to relax and socialise with like-minded individuals outside the water.
Dive holidays, both interstate and overseas, are another exciting aspect of being a member of RUC. These trips allow divers to explore new and exotic dive destinations alongside fellow club members.
RUC prides itself on its annual traditional events, including a treasure hunt, Christmas party, and camping weeks. These events bring members together for fun and festive celebrations that create lasting memories.
RUC is always open to welcoming new members, regardless of their diving experience. Iintroductory dives are available for those who want to try diving before committing to membership. Whether you're a regular diver or someone who only gets in the water a few times a year, RUC offers the flexibility for everyone to participate at their own pace.
