As a community based non-government organisation, their primary focus is to empower young people aged 9–24 years old and their families by providing them with successful and meaningful pathways to their future. WAYS achieves this through their integrated model of service delivery, which acts as a “one-stop-shop” for comprehensive and innovative services.
The club prides itself on its ability to offer specialist staff and programmes specifically designed to assist young individuals and their families in achieving a wide range of positive outcomes. They strive to instil passion, empowerment, success, confidence, opportunity, and inspiration into the lives of all the individuals they serve. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, WAYS is committed to making a difference in the lives of young people and their families.
The WAYS Wellness Centre is a key component of the club, providing a variety of services to address mental health concerns and relationship issues. The centre offers short and long-term individual and family therapy, educational and mental health assessments, psychoeducation workshops, and information seminars delivered to schools and community groups. WAYS psychologists are highly experienced in assisting clients in achieving meaningful outcomes and are equipped to handle concerns such as school refusal, serious offences, adolescent homelessness, and any issues affecting the family unit. All sessions provided by the Wellness Centre are free of charge and are not limited in number.
In addition to their mental health services, WAYS also offers case management support to young individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness, experiencing disengagement from education and training, facing barriers to employment, dealing with mental health concerns, going through family breakdowns, facing social isolation, or dealing with legal issues and serious offences. The case managers at WAYS are approved providers of Work and Development Orders (WDOs) in New South Wales. WDOs provide a solution for young individuals who are unable to pay their fines and enable participants to gradually reduce their fines by up to $1000 a month.
WAYS is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals. They respect and acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which they work and learn, paying homage to the First Nations Peoples and their elders, both past and present.
