Try Pistol Shooting

Alpine holds pistol matches on Saturday afternoons at Anzac Range. To join a match or a Try Shooting session, you need to be a member of Alpine. For details of our three membership categories—Temporary Member, Associate Member and Full Member—visit alpinearmoury.com.

ALL pistol shooters must also read and strictly follow Alpine’s Pistol Safety Rules and safety procedures. (Note: Alpine pistol matches follow Alpine/NSWSA protocols. Do not expect other clubs or peak bodies to automatically recognise your Alpine qualifications.)

If you have no pistol licence, you must first become a Temporary Member of Alpine, then pre-book and purchase a Try Pistol Shooting session. You can do both at Alpine Armoury. Temporary Members may take part ONLY in Service Pistol sessions (engaging a fixed target at close range). These start at 3.30 p.m. in the Horseshoe Range.

ALL SHOOTERS WHO DO NOT HAVE A NSW PISTOL LICENCE (including holders of longarms licences) NEED TO BRING:

•  A completed P650 form (download here). YOU MUST BRING A COMPLETED P650 FORM EVERY TIME YOU SHOOT until you have your pistol licence
• Photo ID (driver’s licence, passport, Australian government-issued photo ID, or NSW longarms licence)
• Receipts for your Temporary membership and your pre-booked Try Shooting session

TEMPORARY MEMBERSHIP

A Temporary membership costs $11 and lasts for one month. It is a one-off membership offered to: 

• New shooters who wish to Try Shooting and do not have a licence for the category of firearm they wish to shoot
