Bamawm Extension Pony Club

Bamawm Extension Pony Club (BEPC) is a sports club located in Campaspe Shire, Australia. Affiliated with the Pony Club Association of Victoria, BEPC upholds the highest standards of sportsmanship and prioritises the safety and comfort of riders and horses, as well as the enjoyment and progress of the riders.

BEPC offers a wide range of activities including dressage, show jumping, cross country, games, horsemanship, navigational rides, showing, and camps. They host regular rallies on the second Sunday of every month (except January) at their home ground located on the corner of Echuca-Mitiamo Rd and Bamawm Rd in Bamawm Extension. These rallies provide an opportunity for members to participate in organised training sessions and competitions.

Currently, BEPC has 26 riding members, ranging from children on led ponies to riders competing at the State and National level. The club welcomes children of school age up to 25 years old, as well as adults over the age of 25. Members come from various areas including Nanneella, Echuca, Echuca Village, Echuca West, Wharparilla, Torrumbarry, Bamawm, and Rochester West.

BEPC boasts excellent facilities, which are shared with Echuca Adult Riding Club. The club rooms feature a new kitchen, toilets, shower, and running water. There is an enclosed rubber dressage arena measuring 60m × 20m, as well as two enclosed sand arenas measuring 60m × 40m each. Additionally, there is a round yard, grass oval, ample parking space, horse yards, and a wash bay.

Membership fees for the year 2023 have been determined and will be due in December 2022. The fees for the upcoming year are as follows: $350 for the first child in a family, $330 for the second child, and $310 for the third and subsequent child. Membership applications can be completed online through the PCV website, and all applications must be approved by the BEPC Committee.

Adult riding members over the age of 25 can also join, with a membership fee of $350, which includes 24/7 PCAV insurance, use of grounds, participation in up to 6 rallies per year, and access to educational activities and support from the pony club movement. Additionally, there is an option for adult supporters to join for an additional $10 per family, provided the supporter holds a Working With Children card.

For those interested in trying out the club, BEPC offers a “Come and Try” option. Participants can attend one rally for $40, which covers insurance and instruction on the day. It is required to register beforehand to ensure insurance coverage.
