Welcome to Bondi Amateur Swimming Club, an historic summer swimming club based at the famous Icebergs in Sydney. With a rich history dating back to 1892, our club offers 6 months of social racing for swimmers of all ages and abilities. Our goal is to provide a fun and inclusive environment where members can improve their swimming skills, stay active, and connect with the community while enjoying the breathtaking views of Bondi Beach.
We welcome adults, teenagers, families, kids, and seniors to join our club. Whether you are a relaxed swimmer or a competitive athlete, our programme offers something for everyone. If you're interested in joining, we invite you to visit our club room any Saturday at 9am to register or contact us via email for more information. You can also drop by poolside any Saturday in October for a free trial.
We offer a wide range of swimming events, including all strokes from 25m to the 400m freestyle, as well as medley, butterfly, backstroke, and breaststroke. You have the freedom to choose which events, distances, and speeds you want to participate in. Our focus is on fun and participation, making it a great place to prepare for school carnivals, obtain your bronze medallion, or train for surf and rough water racing.
Membership with BondiASC includes weekly racing on a handicap, participation in social events and championships, as well as insurance coverage with Swimming Australia. We also offer free Learn to Swim classes for members aged 5 years and above from November. Simply email us to register and find out more.
At BondiASC, we understand that summer can be a busy time, so we allow for flexibility in our schedule. There are no penalties if you're away or need to join later in the season. To compete in the championships, swimmers need to complete 10 swims.
For school-age students, we are an Active Kids Rebate Provider, which means that a government rebate is available if you join before 1st December. We are proud to have many senior members in our club, and to celebrate their participation, we have introduced a new category called The Silver Racers. All seniors are welcome poolside this summer, and feel free to bring your grandkids along if you'd like!
