Coburg Tennis Club

Coburg Tennis Club is a historic sports club located in Coburg, Melbourne. Established in 1890, it is one of the oldest tennis clubs in Australia. Initially located next to the infamous H. M Prison Pentridge, the club moved to its current location in Bush Reserve in 1954.

Throughout its 130+ years, the club has played a significant role in the development of Australian tennis, nurturing talented players who have gone on to achieve great success.

Coburg Tennis Club's primary mission is to make tennis accessible to the local community of the City of Merri-bek and provide opportunities for competitive and social play. The club has been recognised for its excellent community and social programmes, receiving the Most Outstanding Tennis Club or Centre award at the 2022 Victorian Tennis Awards.

The club boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including six full-size en-tout cas (clay) courts, all of which are equipped with night lighting. Two of the courts are also fully accessible for disabled players. Additionally, there are three smaller hard court 'Hot Shots' courts for junior development, also lit for night play. Booking the courts for social play can be done online, with a requirement to book at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
