Coffs Harbour Swans AFL Club is a sports club located in Coffs Harbour, Australia. The club is an integral part of the AFL North Coast league, which was established in 1980 and has been thriving for over 30 years. As one of the founding clubs of the league, the Coffs Harbour Swans have a strong presence in both the junior and senior divisions.
The club prides itself on its inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, always seeking new players and volunteers to join their ranks. With teams for all ages, from Auskick to seniors, the Coffs Harbour Swans offer opportunities for everyone to get involved in Australian Rules Football. The club particularly highlights its successful under 18's side and reserve grade team, who are the reigning tops in their respective competitions.
In recent years, the club has faced challenges in fielding a senior team and is actively seeking talented interstate players to bolster their numbers and ensure success across all their teams.
The Coffs Harbour Swans are based at Fitzroy Oval, which recently underwent a major upgrade. The ground now boasts state-of-the-art lighting, allowing for year-round training sessions. The playing surface is meticulously maintained, with clean-cut grass and permanent goal posts, providing an excellent venue for preseason preparations and competitive games.
Located in the heart of Coffs Harbour, Fitzroy Oval is conveniently situated next to the Coffs Harbour War Memorial Olympic swimming pool. This facility offers an outdoor 50-metre pool and an indoor heated recovery pool, providing diverse training and recovery options for the club. Regular pool sessions are organised to complement other training activities such as road runs, skills sessions, cross-fit programmes, and beach sessions. With the beautiful beaches of the North Coast region nearby, training with the Coffs Harbour Swans promises to be varied and never boring.
Training sessions for the club take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting at 5:30 pm for the under 18's team and followed by the senior team at 6 pm. Matches for the under 18's, reserves, and seniors are usually played on Saturdays, whilst junior games take place on Sundays.
