Gympie Basketball Association

The Gympie Basketball Association, located in Gympie, is a renowned sports club that offers basketball programmes for players of all ages and skill levels. As a registered Fair Play Voucher Club, the association aims to make basketball accessible to young Queenslanders.

The club utilises a new platform called Basketball Connect, which allows members to easily register for competitions, view game draws and ladders, and access other important information. If they have registered with the club in previous seasons, they can use their existing Basketball Connect Username and Password. Otherwise, they will need to create a new account.

Once logged into the app, members can search for the club by typing “Gympie” in the banner at the top of the page. They can then select the appropriate team or age group to view team details, game schedules, and results. The app offers a user-friendly interface that allows for easy navigation and access to various features.

The Gympie Basketball Association offers a range of competitions for both juniors and seniors. The popular “Gympie Hoops” programme is specifically designed for mixed U10 players and takes place on Mondays from 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm at The Pavilion. For junior boys, there are Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 competitions on different days and times. Similarly, junior girls can participate in Division 1 and Division 2 games.

Senior players can join men's and women's competitions held on Mondays and Tuesdays, respectively. Additionally, there is a Masters Social Comp for individuals over 35 years old (women) and over 40 years old (men), which takes place on Thursdays at Gympie South State School. Unlike other competitions, the Masters Social Comp does not require registration and charges a $5 drop-in fee in cash each week.

To participate in competitions, players must pay the required registration fees. They are also responsible for paying an annual registration fee to Basketball Queensland, which can be done via the provided link. It is important to note that the club operates on a first-registered basis for team allocations, especially in junior competitions where capacity is limited.
