About

Marton Football Club, also known as the Mighty Marton Hammers, is a respected sports club located in Sydney, Australia. The club was established in 1982 as a junior soccer club and registered 14 teams with the Sutherland Shire Junior Football Association in its inaugural season. Under the guidance of President Graeme MacGraw and the first committee, the club quickly gained support from the community. Marton Public School, after which the club is named, played an integral role in its formation.

Despite the club's humble beginnings, Marton Soccer Club boasted 126 registered players in its first year. The club's colours, maroon, blue, and white, were chosen based on availability and coincidentally match those of West Ham United. The dedication of the players and coaches was evident, as the U8D's team, led by John Armstrong and John Adams, emerged as the club's first premiership team. The U8D's achieved an undefeated season, scoring 40 goals while only conceding 4.

To ensure the club's financial stability, sponsors and a proactive fundraising committee organised various activities throughout the year. The support from sponsors and the community greatly contributed to the club's growth and success.

Currently led by President David Plant, Marton Football Club continues to thrive. The club has a dedicated executive committee and management committee in place to oversee its operations. The club provides an organised and safe environment for players of all ages and skill levels to develop their soccer skills and foster a sense of camaraderie with their teammates. Marton Football Club is committed to promoting the values of sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for all participants.
