About

Founded in 1910 Mascot JRLFC is widely acknowledged as the oldest Junior League Club in Australia. With 34 teams (2006), it is currently the largest club in the South Sydney Junior League and most successful having won more Club Championships (11 years straight 1996/2006) and premierships (including a record 15 in 2005) than any other club.

Mascot Football club has been a wonderful Junior League nursery over the years. It can point to six internationals who all played with Mascot as juniors. Percy Williams and brothers Alf and Frank O'Connor, George Treweek, Eric Lewis prior to the 2nd World War while Brian Hambly, Brian “Chicka” Moore, George Piggins and more recently Ian Roberts have all graduated from Mascot Oval to the Green and Gold of Australia. Gary Hambly went from our premiership winning “B” Grade side to play for New South Wales in the first State of Origin at Lang Park in 1980.

Peter Moscatt and Mario Fenech Bily Nelson and Tony Rampling have also worn the two blues of Mascot and the New South Wales team.

The club consistently fields teams in all grades from Under 6s to Open Age. It draws on more than 150 good men and women every year who step forward to take on jobs as Coaches, Managers, and Officials. It is a community club, which receives support from a large range of local businesses who help the Club in its endeavours. Botany Bay City Council also supports the Club and awarded a Citation to Mascot Juniors in 1998 in recognition of its work in the Community.
