About

The Society was formed in 1932 here in Orange (pop. 40,000 height 800m) in the central highlands of N. S. W.

Because of our height we have 4 distinct seasons with snowfalls most winters. Our main water is Lake Canobolas, nestled at the base of the 1350m Mount Canobolas. The club has been releasing trout into the local waters for 80 years and in recent times we have also liberated yellow belly and murray cod into some selected waters. As well as fishing, fly tying and club outings, we have a very big lean towards fly casting tuition.

Our members have as tutors world silver and bronze medalwinners, 3 Australian champion of champions and 26 times N. S. W. champion of champions.

In November we hold the J. N. Brazier fly casting cup day which has been contested since 1947.

Count down to Paris for a chance to win $5,000!
