PEGS Football Club

PEGS Football Club, also known as the Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School's Football Club, is a sports club located in Melbourne, Australia. The club is part of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) and has a strong presence in the local community.

With over 340 games of experience playing for Mazenod, De La Salle, and Hawthorn AFC, as well as coaching stints with MHSOB, Hawthorn AFC, and Fitzroy FC, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. He will be supported by a team of assistant coaches and has a strong plan for the upcoming season.

Frank Troost has been appointed as the Under 19 Coach for 2014. He previously guided the Under 19s to a Grand Final in 2009 and his extensive football experience will be crucial in developing the club's younger players.

Stuart Dale, a club stalwart, has been re-appointed as the Reserves Coach for the 2014 season. As a popular figure at the club, Stuart is determined to lead the Reserves to success.

John Hughes, a life member, leadingship player, and 200-game player, has been re-appointed as the Thirds Coach for 2014. Funky, as he is affectionately known, led the Thirds to finals last season and has been instrumental in re-establishing the team.

PEGs Football Club will be hosting a Gala Dinner to honour Essendon champion Ken Fletcher's contribution to the success of Penleigh and Essendon Grammar's First XVIII team over the last 25 years. The dinner will take place on October 14 at Etihad Stadium's Medallion Club, and all members of the community are invited to attend.

The club is currently seeking applications for the role of Under 19 coach for the 2014 season. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role, driving the development of the club's Under 19 programme and establishing the right behaviours and standards for success.

In addition, PEGS Football Club is inviting applications for the position of Senior Coach for the 2014 season. The role provides significant opportunities for growth, with support from the overall PEGS community.

Congratulations are in order for Max Fletcher, who won the U11 Competition Best & Fairest Award. This is a great achievement for the club's U11 team and a testament to the hard work of Cal Glassford, Lain Genovesi, Dean Podger, and the Junior committee.

The club's annual vote count was held in 2013, and Ryan Jones emerged as the winner of the Senior Best & Fairest Award, marking his first win in this category.
