Townsville Golf Club

Townsville Golf Club, established in 1893, is the oldest golf club in Queensland and the fourth oldest in Australia. Throughout its history, the club has been located in three different areas of Townsville, starting at Kissing Point from 1893 to 1921, then moving to Aitkenvale from 1921 to 1924, and finally settling at its current site in Rosslea since April 18, 1924.

While the club was previously seen as exclusive, catering to prominent individuals in legal, business, medical, and service professions, it has evolved to become more inclusive and representative of the diverse Townsville community. Today, the Townsville Golf Club welcomes members from all walks of life, offering options for full or social membership.

The Townsville Golf Club boasts a beautiful course that caters to golfers of all skill levels. The course has undergone redevelopment, with the first stage completed in 2016 and the second stage finished in 2020. Additionally, a new clubhouse precinct, including a brand new driving range, was constructed in late 2022.

The course itself is relatively flat, featuring wide and fully reticulated fairways, large undulating greens, and majestic hundred-year-old rain trees lining many of the fairways. Throughout the seasons, the course showcases blooming, colourful trees, enhancing the playing experience.
