Welcome to the UNSW Baseball Softball Club! Founded in 1963, UNSWBSC has a rich history and a strong reputation in both baseball and softball. Our alumni have represented NSW and other states in the Australian Championships, played for the Australian national team at the Olympics, and even pursued professional careers overseas.
On the field, UNSWBSC has been highly successful, winning multiple topships in the highest grades of both baseball and softball. We participate in the Sydney Winter Baseball League, the North Shore District Softball Association competitions, and the Georges River Mixed Softball competition. These are the leading baseball and softball competitions held in the Sydney region during winter.
In addition to local competitions, we also offer members the opportunity to represent UNSW at the Australian University Games, with one or more teams being sent annually. This is an incredible chance to showcase our talent on a national level.
Off the field, UNSWBSC maintains a strong club culture. The club is run by current and former players, ensuring a deep understanding and appreciation for the sport. We hold numerous social events throughout the season, fostering camaraderie and club spirit. This includes around four major themed social functions annually, where members and their friends can socialise and have a great time.
Our home ground is located at the Phil Austin Baseball Field in Kogarah. It is a fantastic facility that we are proud to call our own. We also participate in the Sydney Womens Baseball League, which is played at Mahoney Memorial Reserve in Marrickville.
UNSWBSC is open to players of all ages and abilities. We welcome both members of the public and those associated with UNSW. Whether you're a long-standing club member or a new player looking to establish yourself, there's a place for you at UNSWBSC. We pride ourselves on our mixture of loyalty and enthusiasm, creating a supportive and energetic environment for all.
