Wagga City Aero Club, located in the Wagga Wagga City Council area, is a sports club dedicated to the love of flying. The club boasts a diverse membership that includes pilots of all ages and experience levels, individuals aspiring to become pilots, non-pilots who simply enjoy being around aeroplanes, and aircraft owners. Members come from various sectors of the aviation industry, including general aviation, airlines, commercial aviation, recreational aviation (ultralights), and the military. Non-pilot members represent a wide range of backgrounds and interests.
The club hosts regular social evenings every Friday from 5:30 pm, providing members with a chance to connect and share their passion for flying. Additionally, the club organises exciting events such as BBQs and flying competitions on the first Sunday of each month, starting at 12:00 noon. These events are open to all, and new members are always welcome to join.
The club's clubhouse is situated in the General Aviation Precinct at Elizabeth Avenue of Wagga Airport. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the clubhouse serves as a hub for aviation enthusiasts to gather, exchange stories, and forge lasting friendships. So whether you're already a licenced pilot or simply fascinated by aviation, becoming a member of Wagga City Aero Club will bring you closer to your flying dreams.
For those aspiring aviators who are still in their youth, the club runs a special programme called “Young Eagles. ” This programme is designed to provide information and flying experiences to young people aged 8 to 18 who have an interest in aviation and flying. It offers the opportunity to gain insight into the world of flying, understand the process of obtaining a pilot's licence, and become acquainted with different types of aircraft used for recreational and training purposes.
