Waratah Netball Club is part of the Newcastle Netball Associaion in NSW, Australia. We are your local club that is growing within the Newcastle community. First established in 1987, we were previously known as Waratah Leagues Netball Club. In 2011, we decided to change our name to Waratah Netball Club as the Leagues Club could no longer offer us financial support. With this change came a change of major sponsor with Mayfield West Bowling Club coming on board. We have grown throughout the years with our member base currently over 100 players. Most of our players are local to the Waratah, Lambton & Mayfield areas, but we have players from as far south as Swansea and as north as the Port Stephens shire. Our senior teams have built a strong base over the years, and we now have 7 teams with 3 in the A grade competition. Our juniors are expanding with a range of abilities, and we now have teams in most of the junior age groups. We are also fielding a team in Divison 1 of the 21&Under competition. Our dedicated committee is constantly finding ways to benefit our members, by subsidising coaching and umpiring courses, and ensuring all our members have access to the best opportunities the Association offers. We are always willing to accept new players with a smile and a warm welcome, and are always supportive of parents who wish to increase their knowledge as well in the sport we all play and love.
