Warringah Amateur Swimming Association

Warringah Amateur Swimming Association (WASA) is a prominent sports club located in Sydney, Australia. As the leading organisation responsible for the development and promotion of swimming on the Northern Beaches, WASA boasts affiliations with 16 swimming clubs in the area.

WASA holds several significant events throughout the season, including the District Championships and Peninsula Challenge meets, both of which take place at the Warringah Aquatic Centre. Additionally, they host a Handicap Meet at one of the Rock Pools, adding a unique and exciting element to their event lineup.

In terms of governance, WASA conducts regular General Meetings on the first Monday of February, March, April, May (AGM), September, November, and December. The meetings take place at the Dee Why Ladies' Clubhouse, situated at Cnr Oaks Avenue and Monash Parade in Dee Why.

WASA maintains a set of governing documents, including a Constitution, By-Laws, and Rules, which were last amended on September 6, 2010, and February 2, 2015, respectively. These documents ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the association and outline the guidelines and regulations that all members must adhere to.

The club's rich history dates back to 1964-65 when the NSW Amateur Swimming Association was formed through the merger of the men's and women's Amateur Swimming Associations. Although several seasons passed with this title, it eventually became known as the Warringah Amateur Swimming Association. The association has since played a pivotal role in nurturing and honing the swimming talents of countless individuals in the region.
