Waverley Rugby League Club was founded by a group of mutual friends with a common passion for the great game. Discussions were shared along with a few beers and a BBQ concerning the fact that there was no team playing in the local competition from the Southern Suburbs of Melbourne.
These 4 founding members were, Rick & Sandra Powell and Allan & Norma Butler. They became the driving force behind the then titled” Waverley Rugby Club “. They worked hard and with the help of a few dedicated players.... The Waverley Rugby League Club came into existence in 1976.
