Wong's Dojo - Hombu

At Wong's Dojo, students have the opportunity to learn Ikemiyagi Goju Ryu Meibukan Karate, under the guidance of Kaicho Ikemiyagi Masaaki, as well as Koburyu Kobudo, under the instruction of Kaicho Takashi Kinjo. Students can participate in either karate, kobudo, or both, as these two martial arts are regarded as inseparable by the practitioners from Okinawa.

Karate and kobudo classes are conducted separately, with a curriculum designed to improve physical conditioning, coordination, flexibility, focus, and concentration. Additionally, training in these disciplines helps build and reinforce discipline, respect, and self-confidence.

Kancho Wong, the head instructor, founder, and owner of Wong's Dojo, is a highly experienced practitioner with the rank of hachi dan (8th dan) in Meibukan Goju Ryu. He studied under his master, Kaicho Ikemiyagi Masaaki, who holds the rank of kyuu dan (9th dan). Kancho Wong also had the opportunity to train in Okinawa with Dai Sensei Meitoku Yagi, the founder of Meibukan Goju Ryu and a senior student of Sensei Chojun Miyagi, the founder of Goju Ryu karate.

In the art of kobudo, Kancho Wong holds the rank of kyuu dan (9th dan) under Kaicho Takashi Kinjo, the founder of Koburyu Karate and Kobudo. Kaicho Takashi was a senior student of Sensei Matayoshi Shinpo, before establishing Koburyu Kobudo Kobukai.

Wong's Dojo is also known for its annual trips to Okinawa, where Kancho Wong and his students have the unique opportunity to train with some of the most senior karate and kobudo masters in the birthplace of these martial arts.
