Abingdon Fencing Club

Abingdon Fencing Club, located in Abingdon, New Zealand, is a friendly and inclusive club that has been promoting the sport of fencing since 1976. The club welcomes individuals of all ages and abilities, whether they are new to the sport or experienced competition fencers.

The club benefits from an excellent venue in the new Sports Complex of the School of St Helen and St Katharine in Faringdon Road, Abingdon. The venue offers ample parking, as well as changing facilities and showers for the convenience of the members. To access the venue for the first time, newcomers are advised to contact the club to obtain the access code.

Abingdon Fencing Club holds their sessions every Thursday evening from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The club offers a structured junior class from 7:00pm to 8:00pm for children aged 8 to 16, followed by the adult session from 8:00pm to 10:00pm.

New fencers at Abingdon Fencing Club are required to undertake a 6-week course, which equips them with the necessary skills to progress further in the sport if desired. Additionally, the club offers additional courses for members to advance in their chosen weapon.

Aside from their competitive record, Abingdon Fencing Club prides itself on being friendly and family-oriented. The club emphasises the importance of enjoying oneself in the sport above all else.
