Aikido is a martial art that was developed from ancient teachings by Morihei Ueshiba, one of history's greatest martial artists. He viewed martial training as a means to practise love and peace within oneself.
This philosophy is deeply ingrained in the teachings of Aikido Goshinkai.
Aikido Goshinkai focuses on non-aggression, non-competition, and pure self-defence techniques. The art places great emphasis on relaxation and maintaining a calm mind. Physical strength is not a requirement in Aikido, making it accessible to people of all fitness levels and abilities. The practise of Aikido helps individuals develop confidence, a positive attitude, and the ability to resolve conflicts peacefully.
At Aikido Goshinkai, every student is encouraged to practise at their own pace and level of capability. The programme includes vigorous and dynamic exercises but can also accommodate individuals with disabilities.
