Aikido (Swindon Ki Aikido)

Aikido (Swindon Ki Aikido) is a martial arts school located in Swindon, New Zealand. The school focuses on teaching the Japanese martial art of Aikido, which consists of techniques to redirect attacks, immobilizations, and throws. Aikido translates to “The way of harmony with the universe,” emphasising the importance of redirecting aggression in a safe and controlled manner.

At Aikido (Swindon Ki Aikido), beginners are always welcome to attend any of the Aikido classes offered. The first lesson is free for adults aged 18 and above. The school provides a friendly and supportive environment where students can learn the skilful form of self-defence that Aikido offers.

The classes at Aikido (Swindon Ki Aikido) are structured and led by qualified coaches. The school follows a belt grading system, with grades ranging from yellow to black belts. Students can progress through the different belt levels as they develop their skills and knowledge of Aikido.

The head instructor at Aikido (Swindon Ki Aikido) is Sensei Phil Bolt, a 6th Dan black belt. He founded the Swindon club in 1996 and is also the head of the KSMBDA organisation, which has Aikido clubs throughout the UK. Sensei Phil Bolt is a fully qualified coach with the British Aikido Board (BAB) and is also trained in first aid.

Sensei Phil Bolt is supported by other fully-qualified instructors at the Swindon club, including Christine Mann (4th Dan) and Andrew Clark (4th Dan). Together, they provide expert guidance and instruction to the students at the school.

Aikido (Swindon Ki Aikido) offers classes every Tuesday from 7:30pm to 9:00pm at the Croft Sports Centre on Marlborough Lane in Swindon. The school is a proud member of the British Aikido Board (BAB) and is part of the KSMBDA organisation.
