Welcome to Airworks Paragliding Centre, located in Lewes, New Zealand. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced pilot, Airworks offers a range of services to cater to all your paragliding needs.
At Airworks, we believe that age is not a barrier to enjoying the thrill of paragliding. Our expert instructors provide tuition for both paragliding and paramotoring, with the option to learn and become a competent pilot in as few as six days for paramotoring and ten days for paragliding. Strength is not a requirement, as we focus on technique and skill development.
We take pride in our premium training sites, which are situated in the heart of the picturesque South Downs National Park. These private sites cover all wind directions and are ideal for beginners. In fact, we train more pilots to completion of their Club Pilot rating than any other southern school, thanks to our small group sizes and limited intake.
Our training courses include comprehensive instruction, covering top landing and slope landing skills that are vital for safe flying in the UK. Unlike some schools, we ensure that all our Club Pilot students are familiar with the local club sites they will fly once qualified.
For those who just want to experience the thrill of flight without undergoing full training, we offer tandem flight lessons. These lessons allow you to fly straight from the top of the hill and are perfect for individuals aged 12 and above (except in special circumstances) with a maximum weight limit of 100 kg.
If you aspire to fly autonomously and break free from the need for ridge lift or thermals, paramotoring is the perfect choice. Our training courses and gift vouchers for paramotoring provide a cost-effective alternative to flying light aircraft.
In addition to paragliding and paramotoring, we also offer speedflying training courses. Speedflying involves flying using small, purpose-designed canopies to rapidly descend slopes. Add skis to the mix, and it becomes speed riding. As part of a BHPA trial, we are currently offering direct access speedflying courses.
For those looking to take their paragliding skills to new heights, we provide advanced training courses. This includes Himalaya thermalling and cross-country training courses, which are personally tailored to your skill level.
