Albany Classic

Located in Albany, Western Australia, the Albany Classic is an exciting and highly anticipated car racing event. Hosted by the Albany Classic Motorsport Club Inc and the Vintage Sports Car Club of WA Inc, the Albany Classic is a historic race known as “Around the Houses”.

The race takes place through the heart of Albany's CBD, providing a picturesque backdrop of the ANZAC Peace Park and Princess Royal Harbour. Spectators can enjoy the thrill of watching a wide variety of cars, ranging from vintage wire wheels, post-vintage and classics to open-wheel racers and powerful muscle cars.

One of the main highlights of the Albany Classic is the re-enactment of the very first race, the Albany Tourist Trophy, which took place in 1936. This re-enactment adds a nostalgic touch to the event, honouring the roots of car racing and paying homage to the pioneers of the sport.

The Albany Classic is a family-friendly event, welcoming people of all ages. There is an entry fee of $20 for adults, $5 for children and pensioners, and free entry for children under 12. Families can also avail a family pass for $40, making it an affordable outing for everyone.

In addition to the main race, the event also features the Mt Clarence Hill Climb, which takes place a day before the main race. This brings an additional level of excitement, as participants compete against the clock to ascend the iconic Mt Clarence.
