Alien One, the original facility, is set in a former church, offering a unique climbing experience with features hand-crafted on-site. The challenges vary from easy slabs to complex overhangs, catering to climbers of all abilities. Every route is designed to inspire and push your limits.
For bouldering enthusiasts, Alien Bloc is the go-to. Opened in 2017, this centre offers lower walls and firm matting, making it easily accessible, especially for beginners. The bouldering routes cater to all skill levels, making it a must-visit spot.
Alien Rock prioritises safety, with strict protocols and well-maintained equipment. The friendly staff are always on hand to assist, ensuring everyone enjoys their time there.
Additionally, Alien Rock hosts a range of courses and competitions to help climbers improve their skills or engage in friendly competition. They also run a U18 and Kids Club for younger climbers. The gym can be booked for parties and group events, offering a unique and adventurous experience.
Membership options are available for those who wish to access all facilities, with one-time entry also offered for casual visits. Pricing varies by peak and off-peak times, and there are discounts for concession cardholders. Monthly memberships are also on offer for regular climbers.
Alien Rock is located at 8 Pier Place, Edinburgh. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10 am to 10 pm, and weekends from 10 am to 7 pm. Note that the gym is closed on competition dates for route setting, as well as on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
