Additionally, the studio offers a dedicated beginners yoga course that spans over six weeks and starts in February 2024. This course is ideal for those new to yoga or looking to refresh their practise.
Throughout the year, Anne Lawless Iyengar Yoga also organises special events and workshops to further enhance the yoga experience. These include spring yoga workshops and a yoga holiday in Paros, Greece. The yoga holiday provides an opportunity to practise daily Iyengar yoga classes in a beautiful setting, alongside enjoying the fresh food, sea, and sunshine of the Greek island.
Iyengar Yoga, the foundation of Anne Lawless' teachings, is rooted in the authentic Indian yoga tradition and based on the sutras of Patanjali. This method emphasises precision, proper alignment, and correct actions in asana (physical postures). By focusing on these aspects, practitioners build strength, flexibility, and balance within their bodies. With regular practise, Iyengar yoga also prepares the mind for breath control and further exploration of the other limbs of yoga.
All classes at Anne Lawless Iyengar Yoga are taught by certified Iyengar Yoga teachers who are trained to adapt the practise for each individual. This ensures that students can practise yoga safely and effectively, regardless of their abilities or limitations. The studio welcomes students of all backgrounds and aims to create a supportive and inclusive community.
