About
Art Chi Shawinigan is a unique school that offers training in Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and the Stvanovitch method. Whether you are a beginner looking to explore the concept of Chi or an advanced practitioner wanting to master advanced techniques, Art Chi has classes and workshops for everyone.
For beginners, Art Chi offers courses that focus on perceiving Chi with the hands and connecting to your energetic centre, the Tantien. Students will learn how to relax their bodies to allow Chi to flow more freely. Additionally, they will practice 11 Chinese health exercises (Qi Gong) to improve breathing, flexibility, and sensitivity to Chi.
Intermediate students will delve deeper into the practice by learning to mobilize Chi in the body. Through focused attention and inner exploration, students will experience a calm mind and increased energy flow. They will also be introduced to Tai Chi through the 24-form set, which combines stylized combat movements with the benefits of both stillness and motion.
For advanced students, Art Chi offers the opportunity to expand their Chi practice into the surrounding space. Mastery of advanced Chi techniques and the rare 127-posture form of Tai Ji Quan are just some offerings for those seeking to deepen their practice. The school's focus on well-being and health ensures that students not only learn martial arts but also improve their overall wellness.
Located in Shawinigan, Art Chi Shawinigan prides itself on providing a supportive and inclusive environment for students of all levels. The school follows a progressive teaching approach, known as the Stvanovitch method, which allows students to develop their skills at their own pace. Whether you are looking for weekly classes, workshops, or weekend retreats, Art Chi has something for everyone.
