Brings. Our club prides itself on providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
At Auckland University RFC, we have a strong focus on developing not only rugby skills but also character and leadership qualities. We believe in the power of sport to shape individuals and contribute to their personal growth. Our experienced and dedicated coaches work closely with players to help them reach their full potential, both on and off the field.
We are proud to have a thriving junior rugby programme, with 21 teams and 327 junior players. Our junior teams provide a supportive and fun environment for young athletes to learn and develop their rugby skills. We place a strong emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, and enjoying the game.
In addition to our junior rugby programme, we also have a women's rugby team that competes in local competitions. Our women's team is a testament to the growing popularity of women's rugby and the opportunities available for female athletes in our club.
For those who prefer a more social and recreational rugby experience, we offer touch rugby for players of all ages. Touch rugby is a fantastic way to stay fit, have fun, and enjoy the camaraderie of the sport without the more physical aspects of the game.
Our senior rugby programme is highly competitive, with nine teams and 393 senior players. Our top team consistently performs at a high level, having reached the final of the Auckland club competition five times in the last seven years. We take great pride in our success on the field and the strong bonds that form within our senior teams.
The Auckland University RFC is more than just a rugby club; it is a community. Our club members, coaches, and volunteers form a tight-knit group of individuals who share a passion for the game. We encourage sideline support and involvement from family and friends, as they play an integral role in creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere on match days.
We are grateful for the support of our sponsors, whose contributions help us maintain and improve our facilities, provide coaching resources, and support our players' development. Furthermore, we are always on the lookout for new sponsors to join our community and help us continue to grow and thrive.
If you are interested in joining the Auckland University RFC, whether as a player, coach, volunteer, or supporter, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our website or contact us for more information on how to get involved.
Finally, we would like to pay tribute to the late John Drake, a former player and dedicated member of our club. The John Drake Memorial Scholarship was established in his honour and is awarded annually to a deserving player who embodies the values and spirit of Auckland University RFC.
We look forward to welcoming you to Auckland University RFC, where rugby is more than just a game – it's a way of life.
