Barge2Beach offers a thrilling ocean swim experience as part of the Hervey Bay 100 Festival. The event kicks off on a barge, with participants taking on a 2 km swim back to shore, culminating at the festival's race precinct area by the beach near Enzo's. Top male and female swimmers will be rewarded with prizes for their exceptional performance in the water.
To secure a spot in the event, participants must pay a reasonable entry fee of $65. This fee covers all logistical aspects of the swim, including a custom cap and a delightful athlete gift in the form of a collectable coffee mug. Aus Triathlon sanctions the swim, ensuring that it adheres to their strict rules governing triathlon swims. Please bear in mind that swim aids such as flippers and swim buoys are off-limits during the competition.
Competitors are responsible for arranging their transportation to the Urangan Boat Harbour on the event day. While a gear drop will be available on the barge, kindly note that items won't be taken back to the race precinct at Scarness in time for the swim's conclusion. Registration will be conducted in the car park at the Urangan Boat Harbour for added convenience.
