About
Belly Laughs Navel Academy is a vibrant dance school located in Qualicum Beach that specializes in contemporary belly dance teaching and performances. Founded in 2012 by Elaine De Rooy, the academy offers a unique approach to belly dancing, aiming to make the dance genre more accessible and enjoyable for all.
Elaine noticed that many individuals were giving up on belly dancing after trying it once due to feeling self-conscious or intimidated. In response, she created Belly Laughs Navel Academy to bring laughter and a sense of silliness to the dance form, making it a fun and inclusive experience for everyone.
At Belly Laughs Navel Academy, students can learn basic moves, simple combos, and use props like veils, isis wings, and gypsy skirts in their routines. Elaine's teaching style combines a mix of classiness and sassiness, creating a playful and engaging atmosphere in each class.
In addition to regular classes, Belly Laughs Navel Academy also offers specialty classes and beginner courses for those looking to dive deeper into the world of belly dancing. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, there's something for everyone at this dynamic dance school. Join Belly Laughs Navel Academy and shimmy your way to a healthier and happier you!
