The upkeep and maintenance of the trails are taken care of by a dedicated group of volunteers called “Bickertrax,” who diligently ensure that the tracks are safe, free of litter, and clear of any fallen branches.

Cyclists visiting Bickerstaffe Colliery Cycle Trails will find a range of trails suited to different skill levels. The trails are colour-coded based on their difficulty level, and visitors are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the trail map available on the official Facebook page. The trails include a short but challenging XC Red Trail, measuring 780m, a Black Line with an easy push-up track spanning around 220m, and a Jump Line stretching approximately 110m. Each trail is packed with exciting features like berms, rollers, doubles, jumps, step-ups, and step-downs, providing ample opportunities for riders to perfect their biking skills.

Visitors are reminded to respect the private nature of the surrounding land and refrain from trespassing outside the designated paths. Pedestrians visiting the trails are requested to remain on the specified footpath and keep their dogs on leads to ensure everyone's safety. As a safety precaution, motorised vehicles and horses are not permitted within the trails.
