Bittersweet XC ski trails - Nordic Centre Trailhead

Bittersweet XC ski trails – Nordic Centre Trailhead offers a unique and intimate skiing experience in the picturesque Assiniboine River valley. The trails are meticulously groomed and suitable for skiers of all levels, from beginners to experts. With 21K of classic trails and 12K of skate trails, skiers can enjoy a variety of terrains and challenges. The hilly wooded area provides a beautiful backdrop for a day of cross country skiing.

The Nordic Centre at the Oak Meadows Trailhead features a heated building with a large deck overlooking the trails, comfortable seating, and a “bottomless cookie jar” for that extra treat. The Ski Hut, located among the trails, provides a convenient rest stop or lunch spot for skiers to gather and socialize. The Terrain Park at the Nordic Centre adds an extra element of fun for those looking to test their skills.

To enhance the skiing experience, Bittersweet XC ski trails – Nordic Centre Trailhead has developed a new map using the Avenza Maps app. This app allows skiers to track their location in real time, record distances, drop placemarks, and more. The updated map has also been printed on aluminum and mounted at all trail junctions for easy navigation.

Membership to the Bittersweet Cross Country Ski Club is available for $60. 00 per person or $125. 00 per family per year. Donations are also accepted at the trailheads and by e-transfer to support the club's operations and trail grooming.

Non-members are required to sign in as day users at the trailheads, ensuring liability insurance coverage for the day.
