Budo Ryu Karate is a style of Martial Arts derived from and incorporating techniques from many martial disciplines.

While rooted in traditional forms, Budo Ryu Kempo utilises modern science and coaching techniques so that the style will always have relevance in the modern world. Whilst martial arts contain a sportive side for those that choose that path, and many of our members have done and continue to do extremely well in sports karate competitions, the main focus is on the all round improvement of the practitioners thru the mind, body, spirit concept.

Budo Ryu Karate Academy also incorporating  the elements of Budo Karate and Lynch-Gardner Defence Systems as developed by Hugh & Cheryl Lynch-Gardner is a proven well-rounded martial system.

The Lynch-Gardners with in excess of 70 years combined training  and life experiences have developed a system that whilst keeping the “traditional” path is very much a system for the modern world, and it will continue to have modern relevance into the future.

Budo Ryu Karate Academy was founded to provide students practical self-defence techniques with a “low investment – high yield” philosophy. Low Investment means that techniques are simple to learn and apply and show immediate results. The idea that a student can learn effective self-defence strategies is central to the teachings of Budo Ryu Kempo. As the student progresses they will find not only excellent self-defence strategies but also the confidence in their skills will become integral to their everyday life enabling and empowering them in all facets of their lives.
