About

Found myself with chronic pain and limited mobility due to poor posture and inefficient movement patterns. Frustrated with traditional methods of treatment, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and education to find a sustainable solution.

This journey led me to explore the world of myofascial release (MFR), a self-massage technique that helps release tension and tightness in the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and supports our muscles. Through MFR, I learned how to adjust my posture safely and effectively, allowing me to move more efficiently.

Inspired by the transformative power of MFR, I decided to share my knowledge and help others achieve the same freedom from pain and improved performance. And so, Cairns Gait and Posture Training was born.

At Cairns Gait and Posture Training, our mission is to teach individuals how to move more efficiently, reduce pain and injury, and optimise their overall health. We offer a range of services to cater to different needs and goals.

Our training programme begins with a comprehensive posture and movement assessment to understand your specific needs. We then utilise myofascial release techniques, which involve self-massage and rolling, to address postural issues and improve movement efficiency.

From there, we introduce corrective exercises tailored to your body's needs to establish better movement patterns. These exercises may feel unfamiliar at first, but with practise, they become second nature, empowering you to help your own body.

Our approach is grounded in evolutionary theory and the latest research in human biomechanics. Influenced by pioneers like Thomas Myers and Functional Patterns, we provide a functional and therapeutic way of exercising.

In addition to our training programme, we also offer structural integration training for those looking for a more in-depth experience. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn self-massage (MFR) and reduce their reliance on external massage therapy. With our training, you can acquire this valuable skill and save on massage costs.

Our rates are affordable, with structural integration training priced at $80 per hour and self-massage (MFR) training priced at $50 per hour. The full training system, including postural and movement training, diet and lifestyle advice, tips, and coaching, may only require 3 or 4 sessions to complete.
