The story of Calliope Equestrian Centre began with a pony named Tipsey. Tipsey, a Welsh Mountain pony, was purchased by the owner's mother when she was just 4–5 years old. Despite her challenging nature, Tipsey fuelled the owner's passion for horses and taught her the importance of hard work and perseverance. Tipsey's influence led the owner to become the “crazy horse girl” in school and ignited a lifelong love for horses.
The owner of Calliope Equestrian Centre is a self-funded horse rescue and has been riding for over 15 years. Her main focus is rescuing and retraining troubled horses, driven by her own experiences with a gelding named Tango. Tango and the owner went through many challenges together, but their journey taught her patience, kindness, and the incredible reward of gaining a horse's trust.
At Calliope Equestrian Centre, they offer a wide range of services to cater to equestrians of all ages and levels of experience. They provide horse riding lessons, both on and off the lead, allowing riders to learn the basics or enhance their skills. They also offer horse training home visits, where they come to you to train your horse or pony. Additionally, they offer pony rides for children, horse washing and care lessons, and even horse-themed photoshoots that include edited images.
To ensure the utmost convenience and flexibility for their clients, Calliope Equestrian Centre operates on a booking-only basis. They are open from 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with extended hours during school holidays.
