The club offers free Have-A-Go sessions where you can borrow a bike and all the gear, including a full face helmet and gloves. You just need long sleeve shirt, long pants and covered in shoes.
Have-A-Go sessions are for people who are not sure where to start or are wondering if BMX is for them, and the club states the opportunity to ride applies regardless of age or ability.
Training usually runs on Thursdays from 4:30pm to 7:00pm during daylight savings months. Riders are split into ability groups.
Riders are grouped by ability. Basic riding skills are covered in Sprocket training, with more advanced coaching for Juniors and Intermediates, and individual programmes for senior riders.
Capital BMX runs club racing on Sunday mornings through summer (Oct to April) at its track at Ian Galloway Park.
Practice starts at 10:00am after Have-A-Go sessions, with racing starting around 11:00am and finishing around 12:30pm.
Club racing is open to all ages, especially mum and dad, and Strider riders are welcome.
Yes. The club states that bikes, helmets and gloves are available for hire for club racing.
The first three club days and Have-A-Go sessions are free of charge.
