Dance Inc – DANCE/CHEER STUDIO is a vibrant dance school located in Green Fields, South Australia. With a strong focus on dance, creativity, and collaboration, Dance Inc offers a wide range of classes for students of all ages and skill levels.

For the youngest dancers, Dance Inc offers the Tiny group, catering to children aged 3–6 years old. In this class, play and music are used to develop a basic understanding of dance class etiquette and basic dance movements. The emphasis is on scaffolding independence, problem-solving, and social capabilities, while also promoting healthy choices.

The Mini group, for children aged 6–9 years old, harnesses their boundless energy. Students in this age group learn to memorise body placement concepts, principles of spatial awareness, and rhythm. Social relationships with peers are encouraged to support their interest in dance and overall dance development.

As dancers progress to the Youth group, aged 8–12 years old, they begin to see dance as a collaborative process. Trusting friendships are formed within the team, and dancers view the dance class as a safe place to challenge themselves. Focus is placed on safe techniques regarding muscle development and flexibility.

The Junior group, aged 12–15 years old, provides creative opportunities for dancers to express their emotions and thoughts through choreography. Health and fitness principles are also incorporated into the Diamond classes. This age group is encouraged to explore their creativity and dance freely in a safe environment.

For the eldest dancers, Dance Inc offers the Open group, for dancers aged 15 years and above. Like the Junior group, the Open group provides creative opportunities for dancers to express themselves through choreography. This class is a way for dancers of all ages to express themselves creatively and freely, fostering a supportive environment.

Dance Inc offers a variety of dance styles for students to explore. The Ballet/Tap class, designed for children who have participated in an early childhood development programme, provides a fun and friendly environment using props such as ribbons, hula-hoops, and wands. Tap is introduced to develop confidence and explore a different style of dance.

The Ballet and Lyrical classes delve into specific terminology used in these genres. Suitable for both beginners and intermediate skill levels, these classes focus on flexibility, technique, and understanding the purpose behind warming up and using proper technique. Traditional and modern music is used, and difficulty and expectations increase with age and experience.

The Tap class is the next step for students coming from the Ballet/Jazz/Tap special class or beginners looking to explore the rhythmic world of tap. Tap techniques and terminology are introduced and developed, incorporating traditional and modern musical rhythms. Props are still incorporated to enhance coordination, movement, balance, and confidence.

The Jazz/Pom class is a great step forward from the early childhood development class. Energetic rhythm and beats are followed, utilising various props to enhance balance, spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and body control in a safe and fun atmosphere.
