Join Hemel Hempstead Cycling Club on a day trip to the beautiful Cotswolds on 15th September 2024. The trip will cover a scenic 60-mile route starting in Burford, Oxfordshire, and passing through charming towns and villages such as Chipping Norton, Chipping Campden, Broadway, Snowshill, and Bourton-on-the-Water before returning to Burford.
This social event is perfect for cycling enthusiasts of all abilities. We will make café stops along the way, providing ample opportunities for conversation and relaxation.
The day will begin at 9:00 AM, where participants will meet outside Huffkins café on the High Street A361 or in the main car park in Burford. This will allow enough time to drive to Burford, find parking, and get ready for the ride.
The car park just off Church Lane in Burford can be used, and it is advisable to have loose change for parking fees (if any). There are also public toilets available in the vicinity for convenience.
The route will take riders through scenic country lanes, offering breathtaking views of the countryside and picturesque villages. As it is a social ride, there will be wait times at the top of hills to ensure riders of varying abilities can participate.
Participants are encouraged to wear their HHCC jerseys if they have one, although it is not mandatory. In case of heavy rain forecast, the trip will be postponed to ensure everyone's comfort and enjoyment.
During the day, there will be a coffee stop in Burford before setting off. As Huffkins is closed in the morning, participants will head to The Priory, conveniently located near Church Lane. At the end of the trip, there will be a late lunch or tea and scones to enjoy. The Priory's lovely courtyard at the back will be the perfect spot to relax.
