The Eketahuna Golf Club, also known as the Mkkahi Course, has a rich history dating back to 1910 when golf was first played in Eketahuna. Celebrating its centennial year in 2010, the club has become a beloved institution in the area.
In the early days of the club, strict dress codes were enforced, with players required to wear knicker-bockers or plus fours, and even the ladies had to adhere to these rules. However, in modern times, the Eketahuna Golf Club has adopted a more relaxed approach. They believe that players should be able to enjoy the game without feeling the need to dress up.
Visitors are welcomed with open arms at the Eketahuna Golf Club. Sundays are designated as club days for all members, and visitors are encouraged to join in. On Tuesdays, starting at 10 am, the club holds Ladies' Day, where female golfers can come together and enjoy a round of golf.
During the summer months, the club organises Twilight golf on Wednesday evenings, starting at 5 pm. This provides an opportunity for players to enjoy a game after work and take advantage of the longer daylight hours.
The Eketahuna Golf Club also boasts a full calendar of events throughout the year. One of the highlights is the Pro Am tournament held in January in collaboration with the Masterton Golf Club. This event brings together professionals and amateurs for an exciting competition that showcases the talent of local players.

They organise two fundraising competitions each year, with proceeds going towards the local primary school and the Masterton Intermediate School.
