Exe Salsa

Exe Salsa is a vibrant dance school located in Exeter, New Zealand, offering a variety of salsa dance classes and events. The school, led by Sonja and her dedicated team, aims to teach individuals of all skill levels how to dance salsa in a fun and welcoming environment.

For beginners or those curious about salsa, Exe Salsa provides a completely free first beginner class. Whether you have two left feet, love Latin music and culture, want a new hobby, need to get fit after lockdown, or simply find salsa cool, the beginner class is the perfect starting point. Salsa is a style of music and dance originating from Africa and Cuba and is now danced in Latin bars and clubs worldwide. It is a high-energy dance requiring fitness and agility at higher levels, making it a fun and addictive social activity.

You don't need to bring a partner to Exe Salsa's group classes as partners rotate, allowing everyone to experience different leads and followsan essential skill for learning and social dancing. The dress code for partner classes is clean, smart/casual clothing that you feel comfortable in. Dancing shoes with suede or plastic soles are recommended but not mandatory, and street shoes are suitable for basic classes. However, flip-flops or chunky boots are not recommended for ease of movement.

Beginners are welcome every week at Exe Salsa, and the first beginner lesson is always free. Individuals can simply call or email to book their free session and start their salsa journey.
