Calder Park Thunderdome invites you to an exhilarating event that will get your adrenaline pumping – Fast Fridays Legal Off Street Racing! This exciting event is open to all racing enthusiasts, regardless of the type of vehicle they drive or ride. So, whether you have a souped-up speed demon or a trusty everyday car, this is your chance to showcase your skills on the track.
What sets Fast Fridays apart is the controlled and safe environment it provides. You can unleash your need for speed without the fear of losing your license or having your car/bike confiscated. Who wouldn't want to satisfy their need for speed in a risk-free setting?
This event is perfect for those who have always dreamed of trying out drag racing. Here, you can put your everyday street vehicle to the test and see how it measures up. Whether your wheels are lightning-fast or stock standard, you can race against the clock or challenge your friends to an adrenaline-fueled competition.
Fast Fridays is not only about racing, though. It's also a fantastic opportunity to hang out in vibrant Melbourne on a Friday night before heading out for the weekend. You can enjoy the buzzing atmosphere and become part of the racing community.
Please note that competition vehicles, ULTRA Fast Street Vehicles, and Tech'd vehicles will need to send a private message to the organisers for verification to participate in the Fast Friday Street Meets. We want to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
To secure your spot at Fast Fridays, you have the option to pre-enter and guarantee your participation. However, if you prefer spontaneity, you can also pay at the gate on the day. Just be aware that there is a cap on the number of participants, so don't miss out!
Calder Park Thunderdome, in collaboration with Calder Park DragRace Promotions, will be hosting street meets throughout 2023/2024. These exciting events usually take place on Friday nights during Spring, Summer, and Autumn, and on Sundays during the winter. It's the perfect way to make the most of your weekends!
Now, let's talk about the entry fees. For Street Car/Bike Entry – Fast Fridays, the cost is $100, which includes your driver/rider entry and an ANDRA Divisional Day Licence. Spectator tickets are reasonably priced at $30 for adults, and children under 15 can enter for free. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, you can even opt for an adrenaline-pumping passenger ride for just $30.
The gates for racing, including RollRacing, will be open until 11pm, ensuring a full evening of excitement. On-site scrutineering services will be available, and secure parking can be found at the competitor gate for $15. Please bear in mind that these times and prices apply specifically to the 15th December event.
To participate in the street meets, all you need is a street vehicle that meets basic safety requirements, such as having properly functioning tyres, brakes, steering, and no liquid leaks. Additionally, an approved helmet, long pants, shirt, and enclosed footwear are mandatory for all participants.
If your vehicle was manufactured before January 1st, 2008, you can run up to 10.50 seconds without the need for a tech inspection or an ANDRA licence. Vehicles made after that date can go up to 10.00 seconds without the same requirements. For more detailed information on safety and licence requirements, please don't hesitate to reach out to our organisers.
Lastly, let's talk about passengers. While select events allow passengers, please note that they must be 18 years or older. If you want to experience the thrill as a passenger, you'll need to purchase a spectator ticket and complete a Passenger/indemnity form at Credentials. Don't forget that passengers must wear the same safety gear as the driver – helmets and full clothing are a must.
