Fiona Watson School of Dance

The Fiona Watson School of Dance in Cheadle is a dance and ballet school that offers high-quality and affordable dance education to individuals of all ages and abilities. For children, the school runs classes from October to March that culminate in a charity dance show. From March to October, children follow the NATD syllabus, with the option to participate in an exam in October. This allows them to develop their dance skills and learn the fundamental elements of dance in a fun and engaging way.

Adults are also welcome at the Fiona Watson School of Dance, with adult classes available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings. These classes cover ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, and acro, catering to individuals of all abilities. Not only do these classes provide an opportunity for adults to improve their dance skills, but they also serve as a means of exercise and an enjoyable way to spend the evening.

With a rich history spanning over forty years, the Fiona Watson School of Dance was founded by Diane Beaumont in the Parish Rooms on Church Road in Cheadle Hulme. Fiona joined the school in 1988 and began teaching in 1997. In 2004, Diane retired, and Fiona took over as the Principal. In 2006, the school relocated to its current main premises on Swann Lane.

The school prides itself on its commitment to providing high-quality dance education at an affordable price. With over 350 dancers ranging from one-year-olds to older adults, it has become renowned for its fun and friendly atmosphere. The Fiona Watson School of Dance offers a wide range of classes to cater to different age groups and abilities.

For the little ones, the school organises fun and interesting dance classes that encourage young children to attend with a grown-up. These classes serve as a stepping stone towards a lifelong love of dance. For children, there are dedicated classes that combine both show work and syllabus work, ensuring a well-rounded dance education.
