At FMA Karate Academy, we offer two trial classes completely free of charge. This gives potential students the opportunity to experience our training sessions and see if it's the right fit for them. As a bonus, upon joining, all members receive a free training uniform. We also pride ourselves on our no-contract membership policy, allowing flexibility for our students.

Our classes focus on various aspects of martial arts training, including self-defence, mental health, flexibility, and resilience. Our professional karate instructors are dedicated to helping both children and adults develop their skills and reach their full potential. We understand that not everyone wants to compete, so while we offer the opportunity to participate in internal club tournaments and open tournaments around the country, our main focus is on providing a supportive and enjoyable training environment. Our instructors are highly experienced and hold a minimum qualification of a third-degree black belt, with our most senior instructor holding a fourth-degree black belt. They also possess the MAIUK1 coaching qualification, Safeguarding Code Accredited kite mark, First Aid certification, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (trauma-informed) qualification. Furthermore, they undergo regular DBS checks to ensure their suitability for working with children and adults.

In 2021, FMA Karate Academy was honoured with 'Centre of Excellence' status by our National Governing Body, Cobra Martial Arts Association, for our outstanding service to our students.

At FMA Karate Academy, we offer traditional Wado Ryu Karate tuition that appeals to both recreational and competitive martial arts students. Our instructors not only teach the technical skills but also instil the values associated with karate, such as mental strength, respect, determination, and a relentless spirit.

We have separate classes for children under 16 years old and young people (16 years old) and adults. Whether you are a beginner or have previous experience in karate, our classes are suitable for all skill levels. Alongside traditional karate skills, students will also learn practical situational awareness and self-defence techniques.

Our Karate school is fully equipped to provide a safe training environment for children, young people, and adults. We prioritise the well-being and safety of our students and have taken necessary precautions to ensure their protection.
