About

GC Physie and Dance is a highly regarded dance school located in Varsity Lakes, Queensland. The club is dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for girls and women of all ages and abilities. Established in 2012, GC Physie and Dance has a strong track record of success, with numerous national titles and placements under their belt.

At GC Physie and Dance, students have the opportunity to learn various dance genres through the APDA syllabus. This unique syllabus combines pilates, contemporary, lyrical, and modern dances choreographed to modern music. The classes aim to improve physical fitness, flexibility, and coordination, while also focusing on establishing correct posture, enhancing self-confidence, and building social skills.

The school is proud to work with some of Queensland's finest creative physie instructors and dance choreographers. They strive to bridge the gap between the traditional school of physie and the world of contemporary dance, providing an innovative dance sport that reflects the discipline of physie and the creativity of dance.

APDA Physie, which is a fusion of physie and dance, is at the heart of the club's teaching approach. Physie is a dance sport that caters to girls and women of all ages and abilities. The members learn 4-6 choreographed routines throughout the year, focusing on movement, musicality, technique, performance, flexibility, cardio, and strength – all in one class. The APDA Physie classes include elements of jazz ballet, lyrical, pilates, contemporary, and modern dance.

GC Physie and Dance offers classes for three different groups: Juniors (5-12 years old), Seniors (13 years and above), and Ladies (18 years and above). The junior dancers learn six routines throughout the year, with opportunities to participate in individual and team competitions. The senior dancers learn four to five mixed-genre routines, and all dancers, from novice to elite levels, are encouraged to take part in competitions. The ladies classes focus on improving fitness, socialising, and challenging oneself, with the option to perform at competitions throughout the year.

GC Physie and Dance has two convenient locations for their classes. The Wednesday sessions take place at Robina State High School, while the Saturday classes are held at Varsity College Primary Campus. Both locations provide excellent facilities for dancers to learn and grow.

The club takes pride in the positive impact it has on its members' lives. Parents have spoken highly of the school, with one parent mentioning that her daughter has thrived in the energetic and supportive environment. The parent herself also joined the ladies' classes and has benefited from improved flexibility and energy. The sense of community at GC Physie and Dance is strong, with dancers describing the school as more than just a place to learn – it's a family that supports each other.

In conclusion, GC Physie and Dance is a well-established dance school in Varsity Lakes that offers a unique blend of physie and contemporary dance. With a focus on inclusivity, skill development, and fostering a supportive community, it is a go-to choice for girls and women looking to enhance their dance abilities in a fun and welcoming environment.
