Gordon Banks, your friendly organiser here at Gipping Angling Preservation Society (GAPS), wants to extend a warm welcome to everyone in the sports community. Based in Ipswich, East Anglia, GAPS is all about making angling accessible for everyone, regardless of skill level.

If you're into still water or river fishing, GAPS has got you covered with seven lakes and six stretches of the River Gipping to choose from. The lakes range from Causeway Lagoon to Alderson Large Lake, each providing a unique experience. They’ve also made sure there are disabled access pegs so everyone can join in the fun.

Joining GAPS is a breeze – new members can sign up online and choose the membership that suits them best. The club also has a shop stocked with merchandise like beanies and winter jackets, so you can gear up in style.

To keep everything running smoothly, GAPS has a dedicated team including a committee, water management team, and a good number of bailiffs. This ensures the waters are well-maintained and the fishing experience is top-notch.

Membership typically starts from June 1st, and you can buy memberships from May/June for the upcoming season. To keep things fair and balanced, some restrictions like night tickets might apply, but it’s all for the best angling experience.

Alongside Gordon as Chairman, the committee features Andrew Winfield as Vice Chairman, Les Hart as Hon. Secretary, Bailiff, and Match Secretary, and other dedicated members like Stacy Bird, Ryan Baker (Head Bailiff), Rob Denny, and Nick Clarke.
